More than 27,000 college students live in Fargo Moorhead. Our four four-year universities – North Dakota State University (NDSU), Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) and Concordia College – offer complementing strengths and produce world-class leaders and problem-solvers.

NDSU is North Dakota’s land-grant institution and one of two research institutions in the state. NDSU offers bachelor's, master's and doctorate level degrees and is also home to the NDSU Research & Technology Park.  The university is particularly well-known for its College of Engineering & Architecture, which turns out roughly 137 engineering graduates per year. University researchers are leading major initiatives in such areas as nanotechnology, food safety, microelectronics, polymers and materials science.

MSUM is a comprehensive regional university with four colleges that offer programs in life sciences, physical sciences, technology, education, communication, business, nursing, social work and criminal justice. The new $30 million Science Center houses biology and chemistry research labs, a radiology lab, animal quarters, aquarium and greenhouses.

Concordia College, a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is particularly well-known for its high quality programs in science and languages. Concordia ranks in the top 15 percent of schools in the nation for the number of graduates who go on to earn doctorate degrees, and the acceptance rates of Concordia graduates into medical school and law school exceed 85 percent and 90 percent, respectively.

Rasmussen College, with campuses in both Fargo and Moorhead, offers Bachelor’s and associate’s degrees and diplomas in allied health, business, justice studies and technology and design fields. Online bachelor’s and master’s programs are also offered.

The Moorhead campus of Globe College/Minnesota School of Business is a career college that offers practical business training and college degree programs that reflect the current employment market in the region. GC/MSB is accredited to grant MBA, Bachelor's of Science and Associate of Applied Science degrees in business, health science, legal science, technology and multimedia fields.

Minnesota State Community and Technical College provides local businesses customized training and education. The college offers career programs – such as accounting, computer and network technology and medical transcription – that culminate in a degree or certificate, and transfer programs that will prepare students for study at a four-year university. Distance education is also offered to provide educational opportunities for students who need flexibility completing a degree or continuing their education.

The University of Mary, Fargo Center (UMary) offers non-traditional, accelerated business-related degree programs for busy adults.  UMary is accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.  Courses are offered at night and delivered by academically prepared faculty with advance degrees and real-world experience.

Tri-College University Fargo Moorhead is also home to the Tri-College University (TCU) consortium, a unique partnership between NDSU, MSUM and Concordia College. Students enrolled at any of the TCU institutions can take classes at the other two and apply the credits to the home institution, at no extra charge.
